When managing an album’s release, it’s crucial to correctly set up the Digital Release Date and Original Release Date fields to ensure accurate scheduling and availability on DSPs. Here’s a quick guide:
Date Settings
• Original Release Date:
This refers to the date when the album was first made publicly available in any format (e.g., physical or digital). It can be a past date if the album was previously released.
• Digital Release Date:
This is the date when you want the album to go live on digital streaming platforms (DSPs).
Important: The Digital Release Date must be the same as or later than the Original Release Date. If the Digital Release Date is set earlier than the Original Release Date, the system will display an error message when you attempt to save.
Time Settings
You can configure the release time based on specific time zones to control when listeners can access your content:
1. Local Time (Default):
• The album will go live at the specified time in each listener’s local time zone.
• For example, if you schedule the release for 4 PM, it will be available at 4 PM in each country based on its local time.
2. Fixed Time Zone:
• The album will go live simultaneously worldwide, according to a specific time zone.
• For example, if scheduled for 4 PM CET, listeners in Europe will access the release before those in America, depending on their local time zone.
Note: Not all DSPs support time zone-specific configurations. Ensure you verify compatibility for each platform.
Following these guidelines will help ensure your album release is properly scheduled and available as intended.
