Performer Roles

To guarantee proper crediting of artists and contributors, be sure to inform the mandatory roles indicated.

Required Fields for Every Release and Track
Primary Artist, Primary Artist Role, Producer, Composer, Lyricist (If the music has lyrics)

  • At least one Primary Artist is required and, if applicable, Featured Artists

  • You cannot give an artist more than one of the artist roles "primary", "performer", "featuring" or "with" at the same time

  • You should specify the exact roles played by each artist (e.g. Vocals, Guitar, Ensemble, Remixer).

Additionally, the following contributor roles with their full name are required:

  • Producer

  • Composer

  • Lyricist (if lyrics are included)

FYI, for Spotify if you select an artist as "Primary Artist" it shows artist name at the release level and places the release amongst artist's discography.
If you select "Featuring", "Performer", or "With" it shows the artist name at the track level and doesn't show up in artist's discography, it only shows in artists "Appears On" section
