What's an Official Artist Channel (OAC)?

An OAC is a special YouTube channel for artists that consolidates all your music content from different places on YouTube into one official hub. This includes:

  • Your Owned & Operated (O&O) Channel: Your personal YouTube channel where you upload videos.

  • Your Topic Channel: The auto-generated channel created by YouTube for your distributed music (e.g., "Artist Name - Topic").

  • Your VEVO Channel (if applicable): If you have content distributed through VEVO, it will also be linked.

Why is an OAC a game-changer?

  • Credibility: Get that coveted music note verification badge next to your channel name.

  • Consolidated Content: All your official music videos, Art Tracks, and albums are organized in dedicated sections on your OAC.

  • Increased Visibility: Your OAC gets higher priority in search results and recommendations.

  • Fan Engagement: Your subscriber count is unified, and fans have one clear place to find all your music.

  • Access to Artist Tools: Unlock exclusive features in YouTube Analytics for Artists (e.g., deeper audience insights).

OAC Eligibility Checklist

Before you apply, make sure you meet YouTube's requirements. Don't worry, Parydise is here to help you get there!

  1. Your Owned & Operated (O&O) YouTube Channel:

    • Must be an official artist channel for one artist or band. It cannot be a label channel or a channel for multiple artists.

    • Must match your official artist name exactly. This is CRUCIAL. For example, if your artist name is "Echo Chamber," your channel name must be "Echo Chamber," not "Echo Chamber Official" or "Echo Chamber Music." Inconsistent naming is the top reason for OAC application delays or rejections.

    • Must have at least one publicly available music video. This can be an official music video, lyric video, or visualizer you've uploaded.

    • Must comply with all YouTube Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Ensure there are no active strikes or policy violations on the channel.

  2. Your Topic Channel:

    • You must have music officially distributed to YouTube Music through a distributor like Parydise Music Network. This is what creates your auto-generated Topic Channel (e.g., "Artist Name - Topic").

    • Your Topic Channel should have at least three official music releases (Art Tracks) on it.

How to Request Your OAC Through Parydise Music Network

Parydise streamlines the OAC request process for our artists and labels. Here’s how it works:

  1. Prepare Your Information: Gather all the details needed for your application. This includes:

    • Your official Artist/Band Name.

    • The URL for your Owned & Operated (O&O) YouTube Channel.

    • The URL for your YouTube Topic Channel.

    • Links to at least 3 official music releases on YouTube Music (Art Tracks or Official Music Videos).

    • Links to your main artist profiles on streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.).

    • Your Admin Account Email at Parydise.

  2. Fill Out Our OAC Request Form:

  3. Parydise Submits Your Request:

    • Once we receive your completed form, our team will review the information to ensure everything is in order and meets YouTube's requirements.

    • We will then submit your OAC request directly to YouTube via our partnership channels.

  4. Awaiting YouTube's Review:

    • YouTube's review process can take some time, typically a few days to a couple of weeks. The exact timeframe can vary.

    • During this period, YouTube evaluates your eligibility and processes the channel consolidation.

  5. OAC Granted!

    • Once approved, you'll see the official music note badge appear next to your channel name.

    • Your content from Topic Channels and any VEVO channels will be consolidated into your OAC.

    • You'll gain access to enhanced analytics and features.

What if My Application is Denied?

Don't worry! If your OAC application is initially denied, we'll help you understand why. Common reasons include:

  • Channel Name Mismatch: The most frequent issue. Ensure your O&O channel name exactly matches your official artist name.

  • Insufficient Content: Not enough official music releases on YouTube Music.

  • Policy Violations: Active strikes or issues on your channel.

We'll provide guidance on how to address any issues and resubmit your request.
