Written by Parydise Support Team

What’s an Official Artist Channel (OAC)?

An OAC is a special YouTube channel for artists that consolidates all your music content from different places on YouTube into one official hub. This includes:

  • Your Owned & Operated (O&O) Channel: Your personal YouTube channel where you upload videos.

  • Your Topic Channel: The auto-generated channel created by YouTube for your distributed music (e.g., “Artist Name - Topic”).

  • Your VEVO Channel (if applicable): If you have content distributed through VEVO, it will also be linked.

Why is an OAC a game-changer?

  • Credibility: Get that coveted music note verification badge next to your channel name.

  • Consolidated Content: All your official music videos, Art Tracks, and albums are organized in dedicated sections on your OAC.

  • Increased Visibility: Your OAC gets higher priority in search results and recommendations.

  • Fan Engagement: Your subscriber count is unified, and fans have one clear place to find all your music.

  • Access to Artist Tools: Unlock exclusive features in YouTube Analytics for Artists (e.g., deeper audience insights).

💡 100% Free with Parydise

Parydise provides OAC upgrades as a completely free service for all users who have at least one (1) release distributed through our platform.

OAC Eligibility Checklist

Before you apply, make sure you meet YouTube’s requirements. Don’t worry, Parydise is here to help you get there!

Your Owned & Operated (O&O) YouTube Channel:

  • Must be an official artist channel for one artist or band. It cannot be a label channel or a channel for multiple artists.

  • Must match your official artist name EXACTLY. This is CRUCIAL.

For example, if your artist name is “Echo Chamber”, your channel name must be “Echo Chamber”, not:

    • “Echo Chamber Official” ❌

    • “Echo Chamber Music” ❌

👉 Pro Tip:

If your artist name is “Echo”, your channel MUST be “Echo” — not “Echo Official” or “Echo Music”.

Even small differences will cause delays or rejection.

  • Must have at least five (5) publicly available music videos.

This can include official music videos, lyric videos, or visualizers.

⚠️ Important:

YouTube Shorts do NOT count toward this requirement.

Most applications fail here — make sure you have full-length videos.

  • Must comply with all YouTube Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

Ensure there are no active strikes or policy violations on the channel.

Your Topic Channel:

  • You must have music officially distributed to YouTube Music through a distributor like Parydise Music Network.

This is what creates your auto-generated Topic Channel (e.g., “Artist Name - Topic”).

  • Your Topic Channel should have at least three official music releases (Art Tracks) on it.

4. Awaiting YouTube’s Review

During this time, they evaluate your eligibility and process the channel merge.

5. OAC Granted!

Once approved:

  • You’ll receive the official 🎵 music note badge

  • Your Topic + O&O + VEVO content will be unified

  • You’ll unlock advanced artist analytics and features

What if My Application is Denied?

Don’t worry — we’ve got you.

Common reasons include:

  • Channel Name Mismatch (most common issue)

  • Not enough eligible videos (remember: 5 videos, no Shorts)

  • Insufficient releases on Topic Channel

  • Policy violations or strikes

We’ll guide you step-by-step to fix the issue and resubmit successfully.
